Solid conservative principles should exist at all levels of government. The Conservative Pledge is tailored for the level of office sought.
It really is this simple.
Politicians lie and they do it often – and when convenient or serves their best purpose.
While examining past voting records, statements and other factors during the vetting process of a candidate, we get an insight into his or her past history. This has some bearing on how they will vote in the future. How many times have we heard the promises, only to be disappointed later, with some excuse like “they had to vote for that budget-busting bill, because…”
No longer. To receive the endorsement of the Patriots behind Texans for True Conservatives, candidates must unequivocally sign our pledge, regardless if it is a federal, state or local office in which they seek the approval of fellow Texans.
We do NOT allow a 95% pledge, or ANY pledge criteria to be changed or re-worded to suit them. They sign off 100% or they lose our support – or worse, we feverishly work against them to expose their so-called Conservative bona fides.

ABOUT THE CONSERVATIVE PLEDGE
Will the Texans for True Conservatives donate to my campaign?
Everything begins with signing the Texas Conservative Pledge. From there, we will look at contested races (including primaries) in order to ascertain if we will invest PAC money into your race.
Can I modify the wording on The Pledge or of choose not to pledge to a particular item in the pledge?
No, we are not allowing any modifications or partial pledges. We have worked very closely with elected conservative leaders to design this pledge carefully.
What happens if I don’t sign The Conservative Pledge?
Obviously, you will not receive our endorsement. Worse, we may actively campaign against you if your opponent were to sign the pledge. We will also publish a list of those Republicans who were not willing to pledge to conservative Texas values.
Will Texans for True Conservatives run negative ads?
Absolutely – and we have a recent history of doing so. One of our goals is to identify those running under the Republican banner who are not REAL conservatives. Our focus will not necessarily be the Democrats – it will be on fake conservative Republicans.
Will Texans for True Conservatives promote my signing of The Conservative Pledge?
Yes! We will issue a press release and we will post your picture, bio, campaign website and your signed pledge on the site. We will also promote those who sign on our social media pages.
What will happen if I break The Texas Conservative Pledge?
Our staff will be closely monitoring all bills that come through the legislature for votes in sub-committees, committees and general sessions. If you have a question if a vote will violate the pledge, please contact our staff. We will be issuing regular updates to keep you abreast on our positions with respect to proposed bills and how they align with The Conservative Pledge. For members who break the pledge, we will very publicly withdraw our support.
What happens after I sign the pledge?
After we receive your pledge, we will ask you to send a high-resolution headshot picture, a short bio (less than 200 words) and a campaign website link. We would also like to have a quotation we can publish on your commitment to Texas Conservative principles and your decision to commit to the pledge. We will then issue a press release announcing your commitment and will send you an endorsed logo that you can use in your campaign or website(s).
