Dr. Jon Spiers, GOP candidate for Texas Land Commissioner has signed The Texas Conservative Pledge.

“Texas deserves servant-leaders who always put Texas first. I boldly declare Texas will always be first for me. May God bless Texas!,” stated Spiers when asked why she signed The Texas Conservative Pledge.

“Doctor Spiers has a very impressive background in the military serving our injured veterans and as a world-renowned heart surgeon training under Dr. Michael DeBakey. An entrepreneur, Doctor Spiers has had to make payroll – unlike many of the bureaucrats in Austin. We trust that Doctor Spiers will also preserve the Alamo as Texans intended and not let the General Land Office be influenced to “re-imagine” this most sacred Texas site by the United Nations or an ultra-liberal San Antonio city council. The Alamo belongs to all Texans.” said David Roberts, Director of Texans for True Conservatives.

Dr. Spiers was born in rural Georgia to hard-working, God-fearing parents. His parents made sacrifices to give him a better life. Dr. Spiers went to Duke University on academic and football scholarships and got a broad education. Playing football helped him pay for an education he and his family would never have been able to afford.

Dr. Spiers joined the Army Reserve Medical Corps. It just seemed common sense to Dr. Spiers that the men and women in our military, who were willing to risk their lives for our country, should have someone to care for them who worked every day saving lives. Dr. Spiers spent time as a young Captain temporarily assigned to San Antonio during the first Gulf War. He spent many, many years caring for our Veterans in our VA hospitals. Even today, he and his wife, Dr. Dana Myers, regularly volunteer to help Veterans, in Houston and beyond.

About The Pledge

The Texans for True Conservatives PAC (a Super Pac) was formed to support “real” Texas Constitutional Conservatives who are dedicated to honoring their pledge to true conservative values at the local, state, and federal levels. The TexasCPAC will hold all candidates who pledge to strict adherence to their pledge in their individual voting records, as well as expose candidates who did not “pledge” and who are not likely to uphold our conservative Texas values.
