A sixth-generation Texan, Cecil\u2019s active business enterprises included construction and calf\/cow operations. He is a LTC in the Texas State Guard, Texas Military Department. Cecil also serves as chairman of the Montgomery Precinct 5 Constable TECOLE Training Academy and has served as chairman of the Greater Magnolia Economic Development Partnership. Prior to being elected state representative, Cecil was president of the Magnolia School Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A staunch conservative, Cecil Bell, Jr has authored, co-authored or voted for legislation to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>\uf0ae Fund border security<\/li><li>\uf0ae Defend 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Amendment rights<\/li><li>\uf0ae Reduce property taxes and broaden the appraisal cap<\/li><li>\uf0ae Protect disabled veterans who lose donated homes due to property taxes<\/li><li>\uf0ae Expand certificate and license opportunities to students through and career and technology courses<\/li><li>\uf0ae Provide liability protection for citizens that donate their time, energy or responses to responding government entities during an emergency<\/li><li>\uf0ae Defend unborn life<\/li><li>\uf0ae Protect property rights from the impact of eminent domain<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Cecil is a sixth-generation Texan whose family settled in Texas in 1852. He met his wife Jo Ann at the 1979 National Meeting of the Beta Club Honor Society. They have lived in Magnolia since 1993, where the couple raised their sons Cecil \u201cTrey\u201d Bell, III and Charlie Bell, and where their grandchildren are growing up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cecil is a charter member of the Magnolia Rotary Club, supports his local FFA, youth clubs, area churches and community organizations, and is a Life Member of the Montgomery County Fair Association, the National Rifle Association and Texas State Rifle Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cecil is running for re-election in House District 3.
