Conroe, Texas USA – United States Senator Ted Cruz, Republican from Texas has signed the Texas Conservative Pledge created by Texans for True Conservatives.
The federal version of the Texas Conservative Pledge contains twenty-six specific core conservative values in which candidates or elected officeholders commit to defending, sponsoring, or co-sponsoring specific legislation during their next term. Key issues in the pledge address key Texas conservative values that include Second Amendment issues, Pro-Life, citizen privacy, protection of historical monuments, abolishing the IRS, illegal immigration, Supreme Court nominees, voter ID, and healthcare.
“Senator Cruz has always been a steadfast defender of the Texas conservative values we hold dear. It’s no surprise that by signing the Texas Conservative Pledge, he continues to cement his position as one of the staunchest defenders of Texas values in Washington, D.C. His commitment to the Texas Conservative Pledge sends a signal to all other candidates and officeholders from Texas in Washington, D.C. that now is the time to re-commit to their fellow Texans what they ultimately stand for. We are proud of his leadership and his commitment to Liberty, for all Texans,” Texas CPAC founder David Thomas Roberts.
Regarding his commitment to the Pledge, Senator Cruz offered, “Too often politicians say one thing on the campaign trail and do the opposite in Washington. I am proud to sign the Texans for True Conservatives Pledge and I think it is an important step to hold our elected leaders accountable.”
The Texans for True Conservatives have constructed conservative pledges for federal, state, and local elected office candidates and incumbents. The website at www.TexasCPAC.org will announce new signatures on the pledges as they occur. Currently, pledges are being distributed to all federal and state officeholders and candidates for the November elections.
